Hhmm. I seem to recall some guy saying something once about how it's the content of a persons character and not their skin color that matters. I dunno' it's probably not important. Dudes been dead for a long time so he ain't relevant anymore.

I'm a little tired of hearing about the sentiments of "other countries". I think more people need to go out and spend some real, quality time in places like the mideast, central america, and southeast Asia, as I have. After seeing that, you'll want as little of it as possible to affect us, and you'll damn sure not care about how they feel. We rule. They don't. End of story. If the world hasn't even bothered, as a whole, to get it's act together as we have, then why the hell should we think twice about their opinions? It's like taking the advice of a retard over the advice of a scholar.

Not to mention completely off base, as you know Dr. King oppossed the war in Vietnam and would be someone Pduggs would surely call a lying liberal if he were alive today. I wonder what the good Doctor would think of Iraq. He certainly would want some specifics from conservatives if they were to attack any person based on general statement of having a lack of character, and it is especially questionable when the victim is a person of color. What calls his character into question? Going to church where people do questionable things from the pulpit? If that is the case, that opens up a whole mess for a lot of folks, like say Catholics. Being raised for some years in a Muslim country? I would think that experience might give him some insight into our current conflicts. Oh how about living and advocating for the urban poor? No, I am pretty sure Dr. King would be ok with that.

As to Flash's opinion that the rest of the world is somehow irrelevant, I'm not surprised that some people on here think like that. I have lived in the Philippines for some time, so I would say that is quality time. We could take some lessons from the Philippines. But it is probably hard for someone to see, especially if they go there with the idea that "We rule. They don't" It is probably hard to make relationships and understand other people when you bring that attitude with you.
