Savage Suicide.
I've been listening to this charlatan since he first did the Sunday fill ins 15 years ago. He's fooled a lot of people for a long time, but now he's finally gone over the edge.
The man has spent the last 10 years claiming that the rebirth of America will come from its Women, but now says that Sarah Palin is a bad V.P. pick. Actually, he says a lot more, in fact, he's so vile, snotty, bigoted and mean, that it seems obvious to me that he's trying to kill his radio show deliberately. He's been ripping on small town America, Women in politics, his audience, etc, etc...
He's just pissed that CAIR beat his skinny ass in court. Michael Weiner is a fuggin' boomer Lib that is trying to poison Conservatives with his insanity. The man's a self hating Jew. He's built his entire career out of being a contrarian, now that the country is swinging Right, he's out of a job unless he can find a new audience.
Which is why, after trying to destroy Conservatism, he's now decided to become a Nationalist. Maybe he'll be a Compassionate Nationalist. Being a Nationalist should be easier than being a Conservative for him. It's a single issue deal.
Michael Savage is gay. There. Now it's official.

Once again you're on point. I used to listen to him, but he's played his last cards. The dude's ego is out of control. Dissing SP is the nail in the coffin for him. I can't listen to him anymore.

Yeah he is nuts on Palin and his ego is out of control, but on so many issues he is right on. He is pushing a third party which likely is the motivation behind much of his anti-Palin commentary.
His discussions on history are great and not duplicated anywhere in the media. His skewering of liberals is priceless.
I continue to listen.
Savage is gay. Now that is very good.

Sure, sure, listen away. My point is that this guy is not, and has never been, a Conservative. He's too narcissistic for one thing, and he's also negative all the time. His job is to keep Conservatives bitter and angry enough to stay at home on voting day. He just went to far and revealed his hand when he started viciously ripping Palin.
And I'd be happy to demonstrate that Savage doesn't know jack about History.

You are much too hard on Savage. He is not always negative. His comments on his dog, food, guns and boating can be very funny and uplifting.
He may not truly be a conservative, but his borders, language, culture mantra works for me. Plus his condemnation of the gay mafia, Soros, and many kooky liberals are very accurate.
His work to help the Marines, victims of crime, and others is admirable.
If you know some inside info on him, spit it out.

I can't listen to him much anymore. He constantly contradicts himself. It's like listening to two old italian men argue over politics and pasta.

Yeah, and only one of them is a man. He's a slave to his passions instead of their master. He cannot control his emotions, and what emotions he choses to wallow in are usually spiteful and petty. He does not inspire, he conspires. He does not elevate, he denigrates. He does not persuade, he goes on tirades. Can I get a witness? etc...etc..
He doesn't spread the message of Conservatism because he doesn't know it. The message is, and always has been, one of inspiration and preservation. The message is supposed to awaken Man's better nature within himself, not channel his energies into hatefull and bilious dead ends. Reagan inspired. The Founding Fathers elevated Mankind. Western Civilization and it's accomplishments lead to the awakening of a new nation on this continent. Pretty persuasive arguments as to why America endures.
I don't hear any of this from Uncle Mike.
Savage does skewer lots of people, and that's fun. But too much of anything is usually poisonous. Besides, it's a business. He's an entertainer.
On to History.
Scipio Africanus was the Roman General tasked with the honor of ridding the Italian peninsula of Hannibal. Savage often uses him as an example of the kind of military genius that is needed in Iraq. I have often heard him wail and moan about how "our boys" are being shot up because there is too much patent leather in the Army, and not enough Patton. If only we had a Scipio to lead us...boo hoo hoo ...sob... The truth is, Scipio took six fuggin years to get Hannibal to leave Italy, because Scipio went to Carthage and and took the fight there. Scipio was a terribly unpopular General, and was twice recalled. His slow, measured approach of cutting off Hannibal's supplies and straining his reserves was unpopular in Rome, which wanted a quick, decisive victory. Rome tried sending out huge armies to fight Hannibal, only to loose tens of thousands. They even tried to buy Hannibal off. Only Scipio's strategy of starving Hannibal and tiring his forces out though feints and small skirmishes succeeded where brash impatience had failed.
Seems like History says the exact opposite of what Savage does regarding ol' Skippy. In fact, it sounds like a ringing fuggin' endorsement of American strategy in the middle east and the Administration that put it together.
Conservatives know History. We're also supposed to know how to apply it. The Framers of the Constitution did.

I think you are expecting too much from a radio talk show host. Do any of them inspire and elevate?
Yeah he has his bad points, but lets be realistic here. He has many good points. Of which, he primarily sides with conservatives on most issues. We do not want to condemn a guy who is with us on most issues but not on some.
I recognize he contradicts himself and is very self serving. But he is very good on several conservative issues.

I only expect honesty. Besides, Savage is always going on about how great he is, what a great academician he is, what a great writer he is blah blah blah. That's all well and good. But if you do that, at some point you're going to have to prove it.
I think Rush on a good day can inspire. I have a local radio guy named Brian Sussman, he's on 560 KSFO if you care to look him up. This guy is on fire. Every day. He was a T.V. weatherman for years, so he's "the guy" everyone looks to to get anti global warming ammo. He adopts kids because he's against abortion, he knows the Law, History, our actual culture, and on and on and on. He's the real deal. Guys like that are what keeps Conservatism alive.
Keep listening to Uncle Mike, I most likely will after a while anyway. I'm just pointing out that the man is damaged goods. If he's a good guy to get ammo to use against the Socialists, use him. Just don't drink too deeply from his well. It's too close to the septic tank.

They guy from Deep Space 9 is the kindest of them all. Brian Doyle? Something Doyle. Nice guy, discusses things, even has Orson Scott Card on all the time, to discuss.
Tell me you know who Orson Scott Card is......pleese.
